The featured image is the first decent shot I got of the moon. It was about 54-56% illuminated when I took it last October.
If tonight is anything like last night, practically light out, then tonight should be even brighter. Tonight’s moonrise is at 18:30’ish, so I should see it pop over the ridge close to 21:00. The moon set is around 07:00 tomorrow morning. The next full moon is monday night so this October’s attempt will be much brighter at 84-86% illumination.
I have a better spot picked out than the shore of a lake in town. Tons of light pollution there. I’m just crossing my fingers that the cold temps don’t push the fog up too far in elevation. I won’t be getting any good shots going through a thin later of moisture.
