A chapter has concluded and another one’s about to begin. Nothing got accomplished in the last month and a half and no hint of progress. Quite the opposite in fact.
Back in the middle of July, when I got kicked out of the emergency room of the Snoqualmie Valley Hospital I called my insurance, United Healthcare and requested a case manager. I spoke to Holly and she told me 10 business days. After 10 days went by, business days that is, I did not get a phone call from a case manager.
I called my insurance back after the 10 business days were up and they put in another request for a case manager requiring another 10 days business. 10 more business days go by and no call from a case manager.
I called my insurance back after the 10 business days were up and they put in another request for a case manager requiring another 10 days business. This time we had found out that I was still assigned to a case manager from 2017, that no longer worked for the company. I was assured that the problem had been resolved, and the proper procedures were followed.
Wednesday of last week was the 10th business day and no call from a case manager. That is three different agent all telling me it has been taken care of. When I called United Healthcare on the 5th, it was the 34th business day from my first call. This time I spoke to Gerome. I explained things as best as I could without swearing and asked him to review the notes from previous calls.
This time I was given a different excuse for not getting a call from a case manager:
“We contacted the service that assigns case managers. They told me that since your qualification for home care is up on August 31st, 2019. That is why a new case manager was assigned to you.”, Gerome
I originally called in the middle of July so that didn’t make sense to me. That is like telling me that even though you are eligible for the next month and a half, we are not going to help you. This lead to another string of questions I had:
- How did none of the three previous agents catch this?
- Why was one of your agents trying to sign me up for something I couldn’t get?
- What was this home care, I dont have a home?
- Why was I no longer qualified?
- How come there is no information in my policy, on uhc.com or google about anything uhc homecare, except elderly care?
- Is this an insurance company, or an excuse factory?
- Can I get my last month and a half back please?
Is it possible to strike out 9 times in an inning, guess so. Now what the hell am I supposed to do? Right back to square negative eleven.
